Little Big Town to Perform With Faith Hill at 2015 Billboard Music Awards
In what is bound to be one of the most unforgettable performances of the night, Little Big Town will be joined by Faith Hill for a performance of LBT's latest single "Girl Crush" at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
The country superstars join an eclectic list of performers set for the live broadcast, including Van Halen, Kelly Clarkson, Hozier, Nick Jonas, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. In addition, other duet pairings include Empire's Jussie Smollett and Bryshere “Yazz” Gray with Estelle; Fall Out Boy featuring Wiz Khalifa; Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea; and Meghan Trainor featuring John Legend.
In spite of some citing "Girl Crush" as controversial, the song recently earned the year's best sales week for a country single so far. Thanks to a huge sales spike following Little Big Town's performance of "Girl Crush" on the 2015 ACM Awards, the reigning ACM Vocal Group of the Year sold more than 97,000 units in the days surrounding the awards show. To date, the song has sold more than 500,000 units, earning a gold certification.
"I think it's really great that we're discussing this," band member Karen Fairchild tells People. We're talking about good songs. The agenda is to get great songs out to the fans, and I think we're accomplishing that."
Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Garth Brooks are among the list of country nominees at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
The 2015 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 17, at 8PM ET on ABC.
