Trace Adkins was the first country singer to compete on NBC's 'Celebrity Apprentice,' and now with the success that John Rich has had this season, the 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk' singer has found a pattern.

"Probably the best thing that we have going for us, and I'm speaking for country people in general when we're put in those situations, nobody expects anything of us," the Trace explains (quote via CMTT). "We go in with those low expectations and then when we perform the way we do ... we sneak up on them."

Trace's theory may be correct, especially once you look at how far each country singer to participate has gone. John just joined Lil Jon, actress Marlee Matlin and rock star Meat Loaf as one of this season's final four contestants. Clint Black came in fifth in Donald Trump's 2009 boardroom, and Trace made it to the final round of the show in 2008, before losing to talk show host Piers Morgan.

John has raised more than $700,000 for St. Jude Children's Hospital this season, but he might not have had the opportunity, if it hadn't been for Trace. "After I finished the season that I was on, they asked me, 'Do you have any suggestions for us for somebody else from the country music world?'" Trace recalls to The Boot. "Before they even got it out of their mouth, I said, 'John Rich. You've gotta go for John Rich. Trust me. He'll give you what you want. He'll come in here an take over. He'll probably fire you.' [laughs]"
