Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit Postpone Concerts Due to Death in Bassist’s Family
Due to a death in bassist Jimbo Hart's family, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have postponed concerts scheduled for Sept. 23-27. The band announced the news on Friday (Sept. 22), promising to return and play the concerts in 2018.
Via Isbell's official website, Isbell and the 400 Unit announced that shows scheduled for Dallas, Texas, on Sept. 23; Oklahoma City, Okla., on Sept. 24; Baton Rouge, La., on Sept. 26; and Mobile, Ala., on Sept. 27 are being postponed. The note states that the postponements are "due to a death in the family," without giving further details, but on Twitter, Isbell asked followers to "send your good vibes out to @JimboHart this week, y'all."
Hart, who plays bass for the 400 Unit, has not shared details about the death in his family. He first played with Isbell in 2006, AL.com reports, as a three-piece band.
Fortunately for fans, Isbell and the 400 Unit's postponed concerts already have new scheduled dates: The Dallas show, at the Bomb Factory, will now take place on Jan. 5; the Oklahoma City concert, at Criterion, will take place on Jan. 4; Baton Rouge's date at the River Performing Arts Center has been rescheduled for Jan. 6; and the Mobile stop at the Saenger Theatre will occur on Jan. 7. All previous tickets will be honored, but for those who cannot make the news show dates, refunds are available at the point of purchase.
Isbell and the 400 Unit released a new studio album, The Nashville Sound, back in June. They are on tour throughout the fall, including a five-night residency at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in October.
