Craig Wayne Boyd is in the studio recording his first post-The Voice album.

The Season 7 winner shared the exciting news on his Facebook page on Monday (March 30).

"Well, YALL, I waited until this morning to let you know, drumroll please … I am starting in the studio to record my newest album, today!" he writes. "It includes songs from great writers like Adam Craig, Anthony Smith, Arlis Albritton, Josh Helms, Trent Tomlinson and myself, Craig Wayne Boyd, to name a few!! Co-producing with my longtime friend and the GRAMMYs award winner Aaron Pearce!!!"

Pearce's name alone hints that Boyd's new project will be an eclectic one. The producer's numerous production credits include Ricky Martin, Jill Scott, Boyz II Men and Pitbull, among others.

During his final show as the opening act of Rascal Flatts‘ Vegas Riot! residency, Boyd performed a new song, "I'm Still Here," which he wrote while on The Voice.

“It’s funny, I was walking around the set as [the number of finalists] got smaller and smaller — it was down to five of us — and people would say, ‘Hey, it’s Craig Wayne Boyd!’ And I’d say, ‘Yep, I’m still here!’” he explains. “So I wrote a story of my musical journey up to this point.”

According to Boyd, "I'm Still Here" was the last song he wrote for his upcoming new album. Boyd's debut single, "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face," was released right after he was crowned the winner of The Voice and shot to the top of the charts.

Prior to his time on The Voice, Boyd released two albums, one in 2008 and another in 2013. The former was released with a label, and the latter was released independently.

Boyd is going to have to juggle recording in the studio with a busy touring schedule. A list of all of his shows is available on his website.
