Willie Nelson Opens Eco-Friendly Complex

Willie Nelson's long-held dream of opening an alternative-fuel truck stop and entertainment destination has come true, with the upcoming grand opening of Willie's Place in Carl's Corner, Texas.

As part of the grand opening festivities February 24 and 25, Nelson will take the stage at the facility's state-of-the-art Earth Bio-Willie Theater with Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel. The two iconic acts are also celebrating the recent release of their collaborative album, 'Willie and the Wheel.'

Located off Interstate 35, 40 miles north of Waco, Willie's Place is already pumping Bio-Willie fuels, which are refined on-site, giving truckers the chance to help the nation's farmers, while also benefiting the environment.

Willie's Place also features two restaurants (one smoking, one non-smoking), a poker room, full trucker amenities, and large-screen TVs throughout. The Earth Bio-Willie Theater has already hosted benefit concerts featuring Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Ray Wylie Hubbard and David Allan Coe.
