Willie Nelson, ‘Heroes’ Album Preview (VIDEO PREMIERE)
Willie Nelson puts his signature stamp on some country and pop hits, mixed in with some of his own new songs, on the upcoming album, Heroes, set to be released May 15. The diverse project includes covers of songs that date all the way back to the 1930s, such as Bob Wills' "My Window Faces the South," all the way up to Coldplay's 2002 hit, "The Scientist." The album also boasts brand-new tunes the living legend wrote with some of his famous friends and with his sons, Micah and Lukas Nelson. In fact, Lukas, who has made quite a name for himself with his band Promise of the Real, is featured on nine of the album's 12 tracks. Other special guests include Willie's longtime partners-in-crime Merle Haggard, Ray Price and Kris Kristofferson, along with newer friends Jamey Johnson, Sheryl Crow and Snoop Dogg.
"Snoop and I enjoy imbibing a little bit, occasionally," Willie laughs in the video below, which gives an exclusive, behind-the-scenes preview of Heroes. "We wound up in Amsterdam. He was touring over there, and I was touring over there, so I went to his show and sang a couple of songs ... We hit it off and became good friends."
