An annual celebration of Georgia music is coming back to Nashville in 2016: The Peach Pickers' third annual Georgia on My Mind concert is set to take place at the Ryman Auditorium in May.
Country fans, get ready for another legion of country music superstars in say ... oh, 18 years? Some of today's hottest country artists have had babies in 2015, which means their musical genes (and, okay, good looks) could very well have been passed down to their bundles of joy.
Released in October of 2009 by Joe Nichols, "Gimme That Girl" was written by the Peach Pickers: Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip. The song was the second single from Nichols' Old Things New album and, in May of 2010, became Nichols' third career No. 1 single. It also earned a Top 40 spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart (No. 34) and was one of the Top 10 songs on 2010's year-end Billboard Country Songs chart (No. 7). Inside, Akins and Davidson tell The Boot how the song came to be.
Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip co-wrote Blake Shelton's 2010 single, "All About Tonight." Released as the first single from Shelton's EP of the same name, "All About Tonight" became the singer's seventh No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and landed at No. 8 on the year-end Billboard Country Songs chart. Inside, Akins tells The Boot about the inspiration for the tune.
