With a little help from fellow country singer Maggie Rose, as well as rapper Big Boi and hip-hop producer Mannie Fresh, Dallas Davidson has released a new single, "Laid Back."

"Laid Back" opens with a country melody, but it doesn't take long for a drum loop and other production elements to make it clear that Davidson isn't sticking to genre traditions. The singer-songwriter takes the lead on the first verse and chorus, while Rose handles the second verse and Big Boi adds a rap about halfway through.

“I’m extremely excited to release this single,” Davidson says in a press release. “It’s music I’ve wanted to make for a long time, and I’m glad that we were able to collaborate on this project with talented people who each bring something different to the table.”

"Laid Back" is the first single from a forthcoming project -- his first with Play It Again Records -- on which Davidson and producer Fresh collaborated. A press release reveals that rapper Mystikal "and other unexpected artists from different genres" also helped out with the disc.
