The Boot News Roundup: Sturgill Simpson Speaking at 2019 San Diego Comic-Con + More

Sturgill Simpson has signed on for a panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. According to a press release, Simpson will appear on a panel alongside the creators of the forthcoming film Sound & Fury, which "merges American rock music with Japanese anime." The panel is set for July 20 at 7:30PM at the San Diego Convention Center, and Comic-Con passes will be required for entry.

As she prepares to release her brand-new album While I'm Livin', Tanya Tucker has announced three album release shows scheduled for the upcoming months. The first show will take place on Aug. 22 at Nashville's Exit/In, and the second show will follow on Sept. 17 at New York City's Bowery Ballroom. On Oct. 16, Tucker will perform at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, Calif. Tickets for the three shows go on sale on July 12 at 10AM local time.

Congratulations are in order for Love and Theft member Eric Gunderson, who welcomed a new baby boy to his family on July 4! Gunderson announced the birth of Hayes Michael Gunderson via Instagram, noting that his new bundle of joy weighed in at 5 pounds, 8 ounces when he was born. Baby Hayes joins big brother Camden, Gunderson and his wife Emily's first child, in the now-family of four.

Jason Isbell, Robert Earl Keen, the Randy Rogers Band and more artists are set to perform at Mile 0 Fest in 2020. Set for Jan. 28-Feb. 1 in Key West, Fla., the festival will also feature performances from Whiskey Myers, Bruce Robison, Will Hoge, Jamie Lin Wilson, American Aquarium and more. VIP packages and passes for Mile 0 Fest 2020 go on sale on July 15.
