Miranda Lambert's forthcoming album Wildcard features a brand-new collaboration with another country woman from Texas: Maren Morris. The two stars team up on the song "Way Too Pretty for Prison," which Lambert debuted early Monday morning (Aug. 26); press play above to hear it.

"Way Too Pretty for Prison" begins with a cacophony of crashing cymbals, drums and guitars -- and laughter. A slinky, punk-influenced melody backs Lambert and Morris as they explain, "He cheated, he's a villain / And you know I'd help you kill him / But we're way too pretty for prison." At the end, a "la-di-da-da" bridge adds extra lightheartedness to a song that's more friendship anthem than murder ballad.

Lambert revealed in an interview with iHeartRadio that she wrote "Way Too Pretty for Prison" with the Love Junkies -- songwriters Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey -- who also co-wrote Lambert's first single from Wildcard, "It All Comes Out in the Wash." The song was actually inspired by a "wine night" with Little Big Town member Karen Fairchild.

"We were having a wine night, and I always tell all of my friends leaving, 'Don't leave if you've been drinking, because you're too pretty for prison,'" Lambert recounts. "So thanks, Karen, for sharing that wine bottle with me and for taking an Uber."

Lambert says she knew "from the second we were writing it" that Morris would be a great singing partner for the track. "[The idea] popped in my head right away, before the song was even done," Lambert shares.

Wildcard, Lambert's seventh major-label studio album, is due out on Nov. 1. She'll celebrate the 14-track project with her Fall 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour back in 2019. The newest iteration of the all-female trek will begin on Sept. 13 in Uncasville, Conn., and is scheduled to run through Nov. 23, when it will wrap up in Greensboro, N.C. Morris, Elle King, the Pistol AnniesTenille TownesAshley McBryde and Caylee Hammack are all scheduled to appear at various shows.
