Luke Bryan Selects Summer-Ready ‘Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset’ as Next Single [LISTEN]
Luke Bryan's next single is the summer-ready track "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset." Readers can press play above to hear the song.
From Bryan's newest album, What Makes You Country, "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset" tells the story of a summer romance: The narrator's hired by his love interest's father to paint their lakehouse, but when the girl shows up, it's like a summertime teen romance movie set to music.
"I turned those shutters the color of your eyes / 'Til the day turned into night ... Then we passed the guitar around the fire to each other / And watched all of our friends pair off with one another / But we felt like the stars we were under / And everybody knew that that was our summer," Bryan sings in the second chorus of "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset." "Sunrise, sunburn, sunset, repeat / Moonlight, all night, crashing into me / Nothing will ever be easy as you and me / Tangled up with nowhere to be ..."
Zach Crowell, Ryan Hurd and Chase McGill co-wrote "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset," and Jeff and Jody Stevens co-produced the track. The song is Track No. 5 (of 15) on What Makes You Country, which Bryan released in December. The country star will perform the song during the season finale of American Idol on Monday night (May 21).
Bryan is currently out on the road for his What Makes You Country Tour. The trek is scheduled to run through Fall 2018.
