Lee Brice, Chris Young Offer Gift of Music to Young Patients

Lee Brice and Chris Young performed for some of their youngest fans this week. The two stars both played a few songs for patients at Vanderbilt's Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital in Nashville. In addition to leaving smiles on special faces, they left the hospital with gifts that will no doubt keep on giving.

The pair presented the hospital with more than 30 Zune devices, portable media players designed and donated by Microsoft, and filled with their own music. The players will be given to teenage patients, to help them pass the time while receiving treatment at the hospital.

"We are extremely grateful for the support of Lee Brice and Chris Young, as well as the generous support of Microsoft and its employees," says Luke Gregory, chief executive officer for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. "The performance was deeply meaningful to our patients and their families, and we are so thankful for Lee Brice and Chris Young for sharing both their talents and their time. In addition, the Zune media players are perfect birthday gifts for our teenaged patients, who, like many of our patients, celebrate life's milestones while facing difficult medical treatments. The gifts will not only help normalize the hospital experience for them, but also offer a great deal of joy on their special day and throughout their stay here."

The guys also spent time with the patients and their families following their show, taking photos and signing autographs.

Lee and Chris will meet up again in Las Vegas this weekend for the Academy of Country Music Awards, where Lee is nominated for two trophies, including Song of the Year, and Chris is playing as part of the Fremont Street Experience on Friday, April 1. The ACM Awards will air live on Sunday, April 3, at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
