Proverbial wisdom dictates that if you want a job done right, give it to a busy man. Lee Brice must have had that adage in mind, considering the various tasks he's currently juggling, including taking on producer duties for the new duo American Young.

The singer, who is nominated for Song of the Year honors with "A Woman Like You" at this year's ACM awards, is also preparing for his wedding to the lovely Sara Reeveley, and making time to play with his son, 4-year-old Takoda. That's not to mention watching his current single "I Drive Your Truck" on it's ride up the charts, all while he's on tour with Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley.

"American Young [is] made up of Kristy Osmunson, who used to be in Bomshel, and John Stone, who produced my record with me," Lee tells The Boot. "Kristy was the girl in Bomshel who played fiddle and sang, and she's an unbelievable player and singer. Since John produced my record with me, I'm producing a record with him. They've recorded a few of my songs that I'm real excited about, and I can't wait for people to hear them.

The whirlwind of activity doesn't stop there, however, as Lee adds, "Faith Hill just cut a song of mine called "Boy," and I'm excited about that. And then there are a few things I'm excited about but don't want to mention yet."

"I Drive Your Truck," written by Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington and Jimmy Yeary, is special to Lee because his brother, Lewis, is in the video, and because the song immediately made him think of his grandfather. Lee says the first time he heard it, it just knocked him out. He figured if it had that impact on him, it would have the same impact on other music fans.

"We've worked so hard, and to see the song make the Top 10 in eleven weeks was so fast, it made us happy," Lee says. "It feels like all our hard work is paying off. We're seeing people at shows just emoting it; they are singing it with their hearts. So it's really cool."

Lee admits it was his idea for Lewis to drive the truck in the video. "Having Lewis in it gives me even more of a connection with the song. It's so cool to have him as part of the video. He's my only brother, and we're really close. I think he brings another emotion to the song and video. And he can sing good, too!"

Lee says that the fans are going beyond just singing along with the tune at concerts.

"It is such a specific story, I figured people would get their own vibe from it, and a lot of people do. But you'd be amazed at how many people have really a very similar, if not the same story, that they've gone through. We're getting hundreds of messages from Twitter and Facebook, stories of how that song is important in people's life. It's amazing to see that and it's really fulfilling that it's happening. Songs moved me and touched me and changed my life as I was growing up, and now this song is doing that with other people today. It makes me happy."

Lee is currently on the Locked and Reloaded tour with Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. The tour takes him to Macon, Ga., on Thursday, March 14, then heads to Florida for two dates, March 15 in Estero and March 16 in Jacksonville.

After his wedding and honeymoon in April, Lee will go out with Brad Paisley on his Beat This Summer tour, which kicks off May 9.
