LeAnn Rimes Questioned By Police After Traffic Mishap

LeAnn Rimes has been questioned by police following what is believed to have been a minor traffic accident. The LA Times reports that the singer was accused of a "misdemeanor hit and run" on Thursday (Aug. 20) in Los Angeles. TMZ further reports that LeAnn "was driving a 2009 Audi Q5 when she allegedly rear-ended a 2006 BMW X5 that was stopped in the left turn lane."

"There was a routine police investigation into this incident, and a police report was filed," LeAnn's spokesperson tells PEOPLE. "We are confident that this matter will be resolved shortly and LeAnn will be cleared."

"We can confirm she was involved in some type of traffic accident," reports a representative for the Los Angeles Police Department. "She was questioned and released. It's an ongoing investigation."

No injuries were reported from the accident, and no charges have been filed.

Earlier on Thursday, LeAnn was spotted playing golf with actor Eddie Cibrian in Valencia, Calif. Eddie's estranged wife, Brandi Glanville has accused the two of having an affair, and calls Eddie a "compulsive liar, cheater, home wrecker and absentee father." LeAnn's camp has not released a statement about the nature of her relationship with the actor.
