Twelve years of Keith Urban music come to life on the stage of his Get Closer World Tour, which kicks off this Thursday, June 16, in Biloxi, Miss. The country superstar and his crew have created a traveling masterpiece that Keith hopes will take concertgoers "to another place with more imagination."

An elaborate steel lighting rig shaped like a rollercoaster and Ferris wheel serves as the Get Closer backdrop, with a huge round screen projecting live shots of Keith and his band, along with pre-produced clips of everything from music videos to behind-the-scenes footage of Keith on tour (and even in the shower!).

"The idea for [the set] came from the song, 'Til Summer Comes Around,' which is set in a theme park," Keith tells The Boot. "What I love about theme parks is taking everybody away from their lives for a while."

But, in true Keith Urban fashion, the real star of his show is still the music. "We're trying to use production to connect in a bigger environment," he says. "We're not trying to use it to compensate for anything."

Keith invited a few hundred of his closest friends and fans to a Get Closer World Tour rehearsal last week, during which he played about a quarter of his set, with hits spanning from 2002's 'You Look Good in My Shirt' to his most recent No. 1 hit, ''Without You.' Watch our exclusive video from the event below, which also includes a funny chat with Keith about his baby daughters.
