Jason Michael Carroll has shared the lyric video for his latest single, "God Only Knows," the second release off of his upcoming new album.

The song is Carroll's first single since 2013's "Close Enough," which also appears on his soon-to-be-released new album, What Color Is Your SkyThe singer penned the song with two Nashville songwriters, and he says he went into the writing session with a specific idea of how he wanted the track to sound.

“Do you remember the song, Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero”? One of the reasons I love it is because, when I was a kid, before my parents made the switch to nothing but gospel, I’d hear that song, and it just made you want to move, and I wanted to write a song that made you want to move," Carroll says. “So, I went into my writing session and said, ‘I want to do a song like this, like Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero.”‘

"And they kind of laughed at me at first, but then one of them started playing the guitar,” Carroll adds. “Next thing you know, I’m singing lyrics to an idea I had.”

What Color Is Your Sky was partially funded by a Kickstarter campaign, which ended up raising over $70,000 (Carroll's goal was $40,000). The album is set for release on May 5 and is available for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon.
