Jana Kramer Signs Up for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 23
Jana Kramer's putting on her dancing shoes: The country star will compete during Season 23 of Dancing With the Stars.
The DWTS Season 23 cast was revealed on Tuesday (Aug. 30) on Good Morning America. Kramer's partner will be Gleb Savchenko, a 32-year-old Russian dancer and choreographer, who previously appeared during Season 16 of Dancing With the Stars, as Lisa Vanderpump's partner.
In addition to Kramer, singer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick, former Texas governor Rick Perry, former NFL player Calvin Johnson and more will compete during DWTS Season 23. The singer follows in the footsteps of fellow country stars Wynonna Judd, Kellie Pickler, Chuck Wicks, Sara Evans and Billy Ray Cyrus, all of whom have previously competed on the TV dancing show. Evans competed during Season 3 before withdrawing for personal reasons, while Cyrus was eliminated seventh during Season 4 and Wicks was eliminated eighth during Season 8. Judd and Pickler both competed during Season 16; Judd was eliminated first, while Pickler and partner Derek Hough won the season.
Kramer has been dealing with some troubles in her personal life as of late: On Wednesday (Aug. 24), it was reported that the artist and her husband, Michael Caussin, have split up, a little over one year into their marriage. Kramer and Caussin were married on May 22, 2015, less than six months after getting engaged on Kramer’s 31st birthday (Dec. 2, 2014). On Jan. 31, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Jolie Rae Caussin.
"This has been an extremely hard time, but Jolie has given me more strength than I ever thought possible. Your continued support means the world too,” Kramer says. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Dancing With the Stars Season 23 will premiere on Sept. 12 on ABC.
