George Strait may be one of country music's biggest bread-winners, but the revenue earned from a recent concert held in his honor went straight to a charitable cause instead.

The Academy of Country Music is making a donation of $750,000 to Lifting Lives, thanks to ticket sales from the 'George Strait: ACM Artist of the Decade' tribute concert held in April in Las Vegas. Formerly known as the ACM's Charitable Fund, the organization provides grants to promote music education, growth and awareness.

George was joined by more than 24 artists and entertainers who donated their time for the event - a salute to the undisputed King of modern country music. The list of performers included Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill, Jamie Foxx, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift and Toby Keith.

Lifting Lives also recently joined forces with Carrie Underwood to donate more than $117,000 worth of musical instruments to her alma mater, Checotah High School, in Okla. For more information on Lifting Lives and other charitable ventures, visit the ACM website.
