Chris Stapleton's special guest for his 2015 CMA Awards performance has been revealed -- and it's none other than Justin Timberlake.

The two artists' chosen song has not been revealed, but Stapleton tells Rolling Stone Country that they "[have] always talked about finding a reason to do something together."

"Some people might want to burn me at the stake for it, or burn him at the stake for it," Stapleton adds. "... But we're going to have a good time."

Back in December, Timberlake sang Stapleton's praises on Twitter. The admiration goes both ways, with the country singer-songwriter calling the pop superstar "obviously one of the greatest musical talents in the world, maybe ever, that we have."

"I called him up with no thought of him agreeing to it, and he was ready to start planning it right then," Stapleton reveals, adding that this conversation occurred even before this year's list of nominees had been announced. "... He was so gracious and kind to want to do it and was so excited about it, and I'm excited about it. It'll be something I've never done before for sure."

Stapleton is nominated for Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the 2015 CMA Awards.
