Brandy Clark Earns Album, Songwriter of the Year in 2017 Golden Boot Awards
Brandy Clark is the winner of two 2017 Golden Boot Awards categories! The Boot's readers have voted the singer-songwriter as this year's Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year winner.
Clark earned just over 50 percent of the votes in the 2017 Golden Boot Awards Songwriter of the Year poll. She was competing for the honor against Michael Busbee (known professionally as busbee), Ross Copperman, Hillary Lindsey, Shane McAnally and Lori McKenna; Lindsey placed second, while McAnally placed third.
In the 2017 Golden Boot Awards Album of the Year poll, Clark's Big Day in a Small Town bested Dierks Bentley's Black; the Drive-By Truckers' American Band; Florida Georgia Line's Dig Your Roots; Miranda Lambert The Weight of These Wings; Maren Morris' Hero; Sturgill Simpson's A Sailor’s Guide to Earth; and Keith Urban's Ripcord. Ripcord came in second place, with The Weight of These Wings earning third place.
Clark's sophomore album, Big Day in a Small Town includes the track “Girl Next Door” and background vocals from Kacey Musgraves. The record helped build on Clark's reputation as a talented artist, in addition to her rep as a phenomenal songwriter.
Clark is currently on the road with Charlie Worsham. Together, the two have been performing shows as An Evening With Brandy Clark & Charlie Worsham since early April.
