Brandy Clark has released a brand-new song, "Girl Next Door." The tune, the first single off of a forthcoming new album from Clark, will make its radio debut in mid-February, but the singer-songwriter is sharing a lyric video for the single in advance.

"Girl Next Door" was written by Clark, Jessie Jo Dillon and frequent collaborator Shane McAnally. She first debuted the song at a show in early November, and thanks to its catchy and sassy lyrics, there's no doubt that the song is Clark's.

“If you want the girl next door / Some Virgin Mary metaphor / Your cardboard cutout on the wall / Your paper or your Barbie doll, with perfect hair and perfect dress / I’m really just the perfect mess / And I ain’t nothin’ less or nothin’ more,” Clark sings. “So, baby, if you want the girl next door / Go next door / Go right now / Don’t look back / Don’t turn around / Don’t call me when you get bored / Yeah, if you want the girl next door, then go next door.”

"Girl Next Door" will officially impact country radio on Feb. 16.

“I am thrilled to start this year by releasing new music!” Clark says in a press release. “The response to "Girl Next Door," from both my concert audiences and the country radio stations I have visited, has been so positive and strong. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Clark's name has been all over country music for quite some time; she's one of the most sought-after songwriters in the genre, and also one of the most talented. While she continues to write songs for others, she's also writing for herself -- specifically, for her follow-up project to 12 Stories, her debut album. The project earned Clark critical acclaim and numerous awards nominations.

Clark is currently on the road with Jennifer Nettles, Lindsay Ell and Tara Thompson. For upcoming tour dates, visit BrandyClarkMusic.com.
