Carrie Underwood, the Highwomen, Gretchen Wilson and many more of country music's female artists, past and present, will unite for a can't-miss opening performance at the 2019 CMA Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 13). The Country Music Association announced the news, as well as an additional collaborative performance, on Thursday (Nov. 7).

In addition to Underwood, the Highwomen and Wilson, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Crystal Gayle, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles and Tanya Tucker will unite for an opening medley featuring songs from throughout the decades of country music. A second all-women collaboration will feature Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell, Maddie & Tae, Ashley McBryde, Carly PearceRunaway June and Little Big Town performing what a press release calls "an iconic CMA Song of the Year and CMA Single of the Year" (we're putting our money on LBT's "Girl Crush").

These two collaborations are the latest in a string of performances already announced for the 2019 CMA Awards: Garth Brooks and Blake SheltonKacey Musgraves and Willie NelsonBrooks & Dunn and Brothers OsborneLady Antebellum and pop star Halsey, Chris Stapleton and pop star Pink, and Parton with for King & Country and Zach Williams are all previously announced collaborations set for the big awards show.

Also in the 2019 CMA Awards lineup are solo performances by Ballerini, Dan + ShayOld Dominion, Shelton, Thomas RhettMiranda LambertEric Church, Luke Combs, McEntire, Maren Morris, Underwood and Keith Urban. Additionally, a tribute to CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award winner Kris Kristofferson will be performed by Dierks BentleySheryl CrowChris Janson and John Osborne of Brothers Osborne.

Underwood, McEntire and Parton are co-hosting the 2019 CMA Awards, which are set to air live from Bridgestone Arena on ABC at 8PM ET. The CMA is using this year's event to spotlight the genre's iconic women.
