Seven Legends Join 2016 CMA Awards Performers Lineup
Seven country icons, all of whom are former Entertainer of the Year winners, have joined the performance lineup for the 2016 CMA Awards.
Rolling Stone reports that Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Charley Pride and George Strait will all perform at the 50th annual CMA Awards. Together, the seven legends have received 375 CMA Awards nominations and won 94 times; Brooks & Dunn, Gill, McEntire and Pride are all former CMA Awards hosts as well.
"These superstars have been an important part of our legacy and have contributed so much to our current success,” says Sarah Trahern, the Country Music Association's chief executive officer. "We are delighted they are going to be part of this important milestone anniversary."
In addition to these seven acts, Kelsea Ballerini, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Maren Morris, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley will all be performing at the 2016 CMA Awards. Paisley and Underwood will return as co-hosts for this year’s CMA Awards, and additional performers and presenters will be announced prior to the upcoming ceremony.
The 2016 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC on Nov. 2 at 8PM ET.
