The members of The Band Perry were feted with a party in Nashville Monday afternoon (January 24) to celebrate the recent chart-topping success of their first No. 1 hit, 'If I Die Young.' Friends, family and folks from their management company, record label and publishing company attended the soiree held at BMI's Music Row establishment. Speaking prior to the festivities, the siblings said they feel a bit validated after hitting the top of the charts for the first time.

"I think psychologically, absolutely it does," Kimberly Perry tells The Boot. "I feel like it's actually solid ground underneath our feet. I know that it is just one No. 1 under our belt at this point, but artists recognize us more now, everybody out at radio and fans. It really is just psychologically a boost of confidence. Absolutely."

Her brother and bandmate, Neil agrees, adding, "You know how a lot of artists say that one song can change your career? Now we can attest to that, it really is true that that can really change your career."

The song, which is about making the most of whatever time you are given, has touched people from all different parts of the nation and walks of life, and the band has been able to meet some of those fans.

"I'll never forget, in Houston, there was this lady, and when we did 'If I Die Young,' she started bawling," Kimberly recalls. "And clearly her children are there with her and comforting her, and she came through the CD signing after. She literally said, 'You guys -- the three of you -- will forever be a part of our family now,' because her 27-year-old daughter had just passed away in a car wreck. She said, 'This song has literally given us life through our daughter's death, and you'll always be considered part of our family because of that.'"

"There was also this 18-year-old girl who hand wrote us a letter, and when we opened the envelope, there was a necklace with a ring attached to it," she continues. "And she proceeded to tell us that the necklace and the ring were given to her from her best friend who had just passed away from cancer, and the friend gave her that piece to remember her by. And she said, ''If I Die Young' was the anthem of that season in my life. So, I wanted to pass this on to you, because you guys literally saved my life through this song.' So, we keep that in my purse, because every day in the music business, you've got your ups and you've got your downs -- it's truly a roller coaster -- but we like to pull that out on the not-so-bright days, and just say, 'You know what? At the end of the day, this song made a difference to that little girl. That's why we're doing what we do anyway.' It's been a real honor to be part of it."

Later this week, The Band Perry, who are hitting the airwaves with their new single 'You Lie,' head to Los Angeles to make appearances on NBC's Tonight Show With Jay Leno Friday (January 28) and the Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday (January 31).
