The Band Perry are gearing up for Sunday night's Grammy Awards, where they are nominated for best country song for their recent No. 1 hit, 'If I Die Young.' The trio are thrilled to join numerous other artists in showcasing the diversity of all forms of music, especially the tunes coming out of Nashville.

"One of the things we never thought we'd get to say out loud in the same sentence is The Band Perry and Grammy nomination," Kimberly Perry tells The Boot. "One thing that we're most excited to be a part of that night is to represent country music and Nashville, because it's an all-genre show and it's just really wonderful to be ambassadors for our little piece of the world in music and we're really excited to be a part of it. It's an honor."

"We went through the voting process. It's our very first time to be Grammy voters," Kimberly continues. "I felt like we needed a sticker that we could wear around that says 'I'm a Grammy voter.'"

While there were be numerous iconic and legendary musical artists attending this year's show, who does the band really want to meet? "As ironic as it sounds, we love Lady Gaga, even with her quirkiness," Kimberly reveals. "I just feel like she's a quintessential artist. When she strips it down to just light makeup and just her and a piano, she's really just as phenomenal as she is when she's pulling out all the stops. She's been a songwriter for a very long time and toured for a long time in clubs ... and rumor has it that she wants to try her hand at country songwriting. So, we would love to jump into a room with her and see what happens."

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards telecast will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 13) beginning at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) on CBS.
