Sturgill Simpson has announced a headlining tour, set for September.

Simpson has been touring almost non-stop since January -- including summer festival performances at Bonnaroo, Big Barrel, Forecastle and Willie Nelson's Fourth of July Picnic -- to support his album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. The newly announced leg of shows kicks off on Sept. 12 in Maryville, Tenn., with dates continuing through the Boston Calling Festival on Sept. 25 and 26. See a complete list of the new dates and cities below.

Simpson signed a new record deal with Atlantic Records at the beginning of 2015, and he has begun work on a new album with producer Dave Cobb. The duo also worked together on Metamodern Sounds.

"I met [Sturgill] through Shooter Jennings," Cobb says, "and Shooter looked at me and said, 'This is the best country singer in Nashville.' We went into the studio by ourselves, with nothing, and did that record."

Metamodern Sounds in Country Music is available for download via iTunes and Amazon. A full list of Simpsons upcoming performances can be found at SturgillSimpson.com.
