Randy Houser will debut his new single, 'Like a Cowboy,' on the 'Late Show With David Letterman' Friday night (May 14).

The song is the fourth single from his 'How Country Feels' album. Houser penned the tune with singer-songwriter Brice Long.

"[We] wrote it a few years ago," Houser tells Billboard. "I grew up around the rodeo and around a bunch of cowboys. I always noticed that cowboys traveled. One of my favorite movies of all time was 'Red Headed Stranger' and all those old Clint Eastwood movies. You always see the cowboy going home and resting and trying to plant the fields, and make things easier at home. I kind of felt that musicians these days are a lot like an old cowboy. We go out and try to make our living. There's that picture of someone who has to go out and travel for a living, and comes home to their family, and making it work. That's what it means to me."

All three singles from 'How Country Feels,' including the album's title track, soared to the top of the charts.

Houser is spending much of the next few months on the road, including shows later this week in Virginia and Pennsylvania. See a list of all of his upcoming shows here.

'The Late Show With David Letterman' airs at 11:35PM ET on CBS.

'Like a Cowboy' will be released to radio on Monday (May 19).
