The New Female Artist of the Year nominees at the 2019 ACM Awards are a solid lineup of talent. Last year's winner, Lauren Alaina, faced some stiff competition, some of whom return to the category this year.

One of this year's returning nominees, Danielle Bradbery was crowned the Season 4 winner of The Voice in 2013, at the age of 16, and ever since, she's been steadily working her way into a solid fanbase while opening for some of Nashville's biggest stars -- most recently, Kane Brown. Lindsay Ell, meanwhile, is a new nominee in this category in 2019; the Canadian native is currently abroad on a world tour and enjoying the success of her recent collaboration with Brantley Gilbert, "What Happens in a Small Town."

Ashley McBryde is another new nominee for ACM New Female Artist of the Year; she has enjoyed some big successes in the last year, including a Grammy Awards nod for Best Country Album and an opening slot with Little Big Town. As for Carly Pearce, although it may seem as though she hardly qualifies as "new" anymore thanks to her string of recent successes, she's still only released one album. Pearce is currently working on her sophomore project.
