Midland Share Upcoming New Single, ‘Mr. Lonely’, at Country Music Hall of Fame Concert [WATCH]
Midland are gearing up to release their sophomore album, and some fans got to hear the new project's first single on Tuesday night (Feb. 12). The country trio performed the new song "Mr. Lonely" during a concert at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
According to Nash Country Daily, Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson played "Mr. Lonely" during a free pop-up concert for fans and country music industry members. The new track has a rockabilly feel, not far off from the tracks on Midland's debut album, 2017's On the Rocks.
"Mr. Lonely," per Nash Country Daily, will be the first single from Midland's second album. The record is expected to be released in 2019, though further details are not yet available.
"The music that we have written now reflects us even more," Duddy tells Taste of Country. "We used our band for most of the songs we recorded because we wanted to truly feel our band. We wanted to feel live while being recorded in a room, with all of these guys knowing each other and vibing with each other."
Midland's Country Music Hall of Fame set also included songs from On the Rocks, plus a couple of covers. The band recently began the 2019 leg of their Electric Rodeo Tour, which has kept them on the road since 2018.
