Margo Price Has a Live Album Coming, and Her Husband Is Working on a Solo Project, Too
Margo Price has been promising new music for some time now, and the Grammy-nominated artist is finally set to deliver! Price released her last album, All American Made, in 2017, and she's currently working on a studio follow-up to the critically acclaimed project, but in the meantime, she has plans to drop a live album in the very near future.
Collected from her three sold-out shows in May of 2018 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the record, Price says, will also include an accompanying DVD with footage from the shows, to give fans the full experience of her Ryman residency.
"I actually paid out the a-- to film it, so I want to put out a DVD and a record of our live show," Price tells SiriusXM, adding that her band has evolved in their live performance, and she looks forward to showcasing that. Plus, the stint of concerts also showcased an unforgettable string of surprise musical guests, and she wants to memorialize the thrill of bringing some of her favorite collaborators out onstage.
"We had so many cool guests," she adds. "Emmylou [Harris] and Sturgill [Simpson] came out, and Jack White, of course."
Price's bandmate and husband Jeremy Ivey is also set to release an album, his first solo project, comprised entirely of original songs written by Ivey. The album is produced by Price, who says that Ivey is sorely underrated, and they might have a label on board to release the EP.
Price will be on hand Sunday night (Feb. 10) at the 2019 Grammy Awards, where she has earned a nomination for Best New Artist.
