Luke Bryan Twitter Is Ultimate Fan Club

Luke Bryan has more than a million followers on Twitter (@LukeBryanOnline), and he pays attention to each and every one of them. The country music hitmaker recalls a recent event where a tweet from a fan motivated him to personally handle a problematic situation with one of his shows.

"You get weird, funny requests on Twitter," he told The Boot and other reporters at a recent media event. "With our fan club, I was seeing a lot of fans were having some issue with the way the fan club tickets were being handled in one of the shows. So I was able to correspond with that fan, and be like, 'Listen, we'll be on it.' We actually went and saw the potential problem, and made the fans that it was affecting negatively, made them happy."

The 36-year-old country star said he also found solace in the social media site when he was criticized for writing down the words to the national anthem on his hand before the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in July. "I had a lot of artists tweet me going, 'Man, you don't owe nobody an apology,' and 'I get nervous as hell in those moments too,'" he recalls. "Those are big moments when you can buddy up and you know that they've got your back."

The "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye" singer says Twitter also helps artists connect with their peers. "Anytime you have a fellow artist say, 'Loving the new Luke Bryan album,' that's awesome," he notes. "Somebody saw a tweet where Reba was saying something about the songs on my album, that's when it's really amazing. Even with all the negativeness of the whole social media thing, I still think it's leaps and bounds more positive."
