Little Big Town's 2015 CMA Awards experience just kept getting better and better, as the quartet took home the award for Vocal Group of the Year.

"Seventeen years ago this very month, we became a band," said Kimberly Schlapman as the country quartet accepted the trophy. "We can never have dreamed up what God was going to take us on this journey. We're so grateful, for every single step of the way, and for your sweet hearts and your sweet faces who've brought us here. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Jimi Westbrook chimed in to thank country music fans, saying, "You have changed our lives, and we love you."

Little Big Town, who also won Vocal Group of the Year at the 2014 CMA Awards, performed a haunting version of "Girl Crush" earlier in the night.

Prior to giving out the award, presenters Pentatonix earned a standing ovation by doing an impromptu a cappella version of the Oak Ridge Boys' "Elvira," in honor of the group's Country Music Hall of Fame induction.

Other Vocal Group of the Year nominees included Lady AntebellumRascal Flatts, the Band Perry and Zac Brown Band.
