LeAnn Rimes has taken a lot of heat for her relationship with fiancé Eddie Cibrian, and she feels some of it isn't entirely fair, considering that there are certainly plenty of men in the music business who've had affairs. She opens up in-depth about the flack she's taken on a special 90-minute episode of GAC's 'Backstory' that premieres this Sunday (April 24) and includes interviews with her mother, her agent, her label head and childhood buddy Steve Holy, among others.

"I mean, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and all of those guys, God knows that they did it back in the day," LeAnn tells GAC. "If a woman did it, you were never accepted or forgiven, but if it was a guy, they could write a song about it, it'd be huge, and they'd move on. It's quite interesting to navigate those waters as a woman in this business."

An interesting revelation in the show is that LeAnn didn't really even want to go on the month-long movie shoot in Canada that led to her introduction to Eddie and ultimately changed her life. "I had toured all year and was like, 'Oh God, don't make me go to Canada for four weeks.' And then we met and became really good friends. We spent a lot of time together on set and got to know each other well, and then it just sort of snowballed after that."

The singer/actress admits that she could have handled the situation better at the time when she and Eddie fell in love on set, but in the end had to follow her heart. "I know I didn't do it the right way. It got messy, but I have learned a lot. I'm not glad it happened, but I know why it did. The decision wasn't about Dean or Eddie, it was about whether or not I was in the right place."

Having started in the business as a pre-teen, and doing 500 shows between the ages of 14 - 17, it's easy to forget that the now 28-year-old LeAnn basically grew up on the road and spent a lot of those formative years working, when the rest of us were making mistakes, learning lessons and growing. But she says she's catching up, and these days she's embracing her inner-child a bit and learning to give herself a break.

"I'm still growing up, and some parts of me are still childlike, which is good in a way," LeAnn admits. "I've learned that the imperfections are what have made my life so interesting."

If InTouch Weekly is to be believed, LeAnn and Eddie are tying the knot this weekend in front of about 100 guests in Los Angeles. But their wedding date, of course, has not been publicly confirmed.
