Put the rumors to rest. LeAnn Rimes wants fans to know that she and boyfriend Eddie Cibrian are not engaged. Instead, the singer is engaged in an online war with the entertainment network, E!, the first to report that a "source" claims the couple are planning a wedding.

"Ok, I've about had it with the lack of 'reporting' with E News," LeAnn writes on her Twitter page. "The fact that our 'engagement' has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible 'sources' they seem to find and build a story around. When CNN is calling my publicist off of a lie E News has reported, the media world seriously has a problem with their lack of responsibility to the public to actually report the truth. Even though this is positive 'news,' it's not true. Imagine all the negative 'true stories' they've reported over the last year that aren't true either.

"Gina Serpe and especially Whitney English reporting for E News should be investigated for their lack of 'investigative reporting,'" the irate singer continues. "Eddie and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all and hopefully will be able to enjoy it privately and share it with our family and friends before the world knows (contrary to reports on our intentions). So, nothing has been 'exclusively' broken E News except maybe some of your credibility, sorry ... I'M PREGNANT TOO!!! LOL Thanks to all of our wonderful fans for the premature congrats, but for now, let's all be happy we're happy and still and will remain together! Eddie and I felt we couldn't let this rumor go on any longer."

Gina and Whitney, the two E! writers whom LeAnn calls out in her tweets, are sticking by their story. "A source close to the couple tells E! News that Rimes and Cibrian are 'pissed' that the engagement news broke, since they were planning to cash in on their personal life by giving the exclusive to another outlet, complete with happy couple photos and the now requisite 'over the moon' pullout quotes," they write in an updated post on E!'s website, continuing, "Aww, our bad."

LeAnn says her "poor publicist"'s phone has been ringing off the hook since E! reported the "engagement," and that she has had scores of friends and fans congratulating her. The singer felt she had no choice but to use Twitter to clear up the rumors.

LeAnn and Eddie met while starring together in the TV movie, 'Northern Lights.' They've lived much of their relationship under the media's watchful eye since being caught together while both still married to other people. LeAnn has now divorced her husband of seven years, Dean Sheremet, and Eddie officially split with his wife of eight years, Brandi Glanville. While LeAnn says she "understands why people are disappointed in" her, she is ultimately happy with the outcome.

"I have had moments of regret and guilt over and over again, but I refuse to live my life in it," LeAnn asserts. "Any person working on moving on with their life in health and happiness must let go of those feelings. I've said I'm sorry for the hurt I have caused so many times ... I wish happiness and peace for us all. Life is too short for hate and regret, and too long to not tell the truth. God doesn't make mistakes, we do as humans and hopefully we take away lessons from each experience, humbled by the power of forgiveness."

LeAnn is getting ready to release an album of cover songs made popular by male artists, 'Lady and Gentlemen,' which was produced by Vince Gill. She'll spend much of November away from her "future husband," while she performs in several different states, including New York, Ohio and Wisconsin. Find LeAnn's tour dates here.
