Lauren Alaina has released a duet with a person she calls "one of my favorite singers of all time." On Friday (June 26), Alaina revealed a new version of her current single, "Getting Good," featuring Trisha Yearwood.

"I never could’ve imagined that this YEARWOOD give me the opportunity to release a duet with one of my favorite singers of all time," the pun-prone singer wrote on Twitter on Tuesday (June 23). "I’m so proud to announce that @trishayearwood and I are releasing a collaboration of my single, Getting Good, this Friday."

Before releasing their recorded "Getting Good" duet, Alaina and Yearwood harmonized live on the song's hook in a video shot in what appears to be Yearwood's kitchen that accompanies the announcement. After, Alaina whispers, "That is the best thing that's ever happened to me," while Yearwood laughs delightedly.

“I just love the sentiment of this song. We all have these dreams. What you learn, is it’s not the goals that you reach that are the things you’re really going to remember, it’s the journey all along the way," Yearwood reflects in a press release. Adds Alaina, "I’m so thankful that I get to share such an important message with one of the most important and impactful voices in my life.

"Trisha is a beautiful person inside and out," Alaina adds. "I’m honored she said yes to this song and to me."

Alaina released her solo version of "Getting Good" as a single from her EP of the same name, which dropped on March 6. The songs on the project are set to appear on her upcoming third album, but she wanted to get some of the selections she's already been performing live in the hands of fans early. Alaina performed the songs from the EP on her That Girl Was Me Tour, which was her first headlining tour.
