Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton and Old Dominion Win New Artist ACM Awards
The 2016 ACM Awards don't officially get handed out until April 3, but three up-and-coming artists already have trophies to their names.
Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton and Old Dominion have been named New Female Vocalist of the Year, New Male Vocalist of the Year and New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, respectively.
"AN ACM AWARD?! WHAT IS HAPPENING." Ballerini tweeted on Wednesday (March 23), just after winners were revealed. "MY HEART IS BURSTING."
All three acts will be looking to win additional categories during the ACM Awards ceremony: Old Dominion are also nominated for Vocal Group of the Year, while Ballerini is also up for Female Vocalist of the Year. Stapleton is also vying for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year, and is featured on Gary Allan's "Hangover Tonight," which is nominated for Vocal Event of the Year.
Ballerini and Stapleton are set to perform during the 2016 ACM Awards, along with Dolly Parton and Katy Perry, Brett Eldredge, Chris Young and Cassadee Pope, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line and Cam.
The 2016 ACM Awards are set to air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 3, beginning at 8PM ET on CBS. Bryan and Bentley will be co-hosting this year’s ceremony.
