Born Camaron Marvel Ochs, Cam studied psychology in college before making the switch to country music. Cam moved from California to Nashville after finding success as a songwriter, but in Music City, she turned down a publishing deal because she wanted to prove that she could make it as an artist herself. The singer-songwriter landed a song on Miley Cyrus' 2013 album 'Bangerz', as well as on Maggie Rose's debut disc, and launched a Kickstarter campaign to help finance her own album -- but when award-winning producer Jeff Bhasker heard Cam, he helped her get a record deal with Arista Nashville. Cam's first single, "My Mistake," was released in 2014 and failed to crack the Top 40; however, her second single, "Burning House," became a Top 5 hit, went platinum and earned the artist her very first Grammy Awards nomination, for Best Country Solo Performance. Cam's debut album, 'Untamed', was released in December of 2015.
