2016 ACM Awards Nominees Announced
Nominees have been announced for the 2016 ACM Awards, and the list of nods features both the expected and the unexpected.
Dierks Bentley -- aka, Luke Bryan's new ACMs co-host -- appeared on CBS This Morning on Feb. 1 to reveal nominees in six of the biggest categories: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year and Album of the Year. Nominees in five additional categories -- New Male Vocalist of the Year, New Female Vocalist of the Year, New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year -- were released online. Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year were revealed on Feb. 18.
Chris Stapleton received seven nominations, the most of anyone this year, while Eric Church and Cam notched six. Little Big Town earned five nominations, while LBT's Karen Fairchild received an additional solo nod for her collaboration with Bryan, "Home Alone Tonight." Chris Young has four noms, and Miranda Lambert, Chris Janson, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban each have three nominations.
The 2016 ACM Awards are set to air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 3, beginning at 8PM ET on CBS.
