John Rich knows a thing or two about "Celebrity Apprentice." After winning last year's competition, the singer-songwriter has a suggestion for who would be a perfect addition to next season's cast: Eric Church.

"I would like to just extend an invitation that if [Eric] wants to meet Donald Trump and go on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' I will make that happen for you, Eric," John shared (quote via Country Weekly). "We need to go do that show and raise some money for your charity."

The Big & Rich hitmaker extends this offer in spite of the "Springsteen" singer's recent remarks criticizing reality TV singing competitions (and the artists who appear in them), in the now infamous Rolling Stone interview.

"I heard his apology," John says. "I think he just got to talking too fast probably and didn't realize, 'Uh-oh, I didn't remember all these great singers that have come from some of these shows.' I don't think he was trying to be that malicious about it or anything."

Controversy or not, John insists Eric would be an ideal fit for the demanding show. "I do think he'd be good on '[Celebrity] Apprentice,'" he explains. "The guy's been working his tail off for however many years on the road and building his audience, and he's a smart, tough guy. Give me a call, brother."

"Celebrity Apprentice" is no stranger to country stars. In addition to John, the show has also played host to Clint Black and Trace Adkins, who came in second in 2008's season 7.

Big & Rich will release their next album, Hillbilly Jedis, later this year. The pair have a schedule full of shows over the spring and summer, with stops in Florida, New Jersey and Tennessee. Find details here.
