Nashville songwriter Dallas Davidson and his wife Natalia welcomed a baby boy to their family on Feb. 25.

Their son is carrying on his dad's legacy: He is named Dallas Gerald Davidson Jr. Baby Dallas was born at 7:49AM, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long. The sweet baby and his mother are doing well, and Davidson is over the moon.

"I’ve always wanted children. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wanted a son. I have the greatest wife -- and now mother -- and a beautiful, healthy boy. This is what life is all about," he tells Country Weekly. "I feel like I’m floating on clouds right now. I’m as happy as I’ve ever been. God is great. I’m blessed beyond my wildest dreams.”

The singer's excitement over his little guy was apparent even before little Dallas came into the world, thanks to a song titled "Little Country Boys."

"I wrote it when my wife was pregnant, hoping it was a boy," Davidson reveals. As of September, the song had yet to be recorded.

Davidson and his wife, an Australian singer-songwriter with a worldwide publishing deal with Warner/Chappel Music Nashville, wed in a small ceremony on July 26, 2014, in Albany, Ga. Davidson is a prolific songwriter in the country music industry, with 19 chart-topping hits and more than 250 songs recorded throughout his career -- and he's only 36 years old. Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Randy Houser, Billy Currington and Justin Moore are among the country stars that have recorded Davidson's songs.

Congratulations to the Davidson family on their precious baby boy!
