The CMA Songwriter Series, typically held in New York City, will be making a West coast stop. Gretchen Wilson and Chris Young will take the stage for the famous showcase, where they will be joined by some of country music's most prolific tunesmiths at Los Angeles' Club Nokia.

"As a performer, l love being in a room full of fans that sing along to every word to every song I sing," Chris says (quote via Country Music Tattle Tale). "As a songwriter, to be a part of the CMA Songwriter Series together with such talented writers as Brett James, Victoria Shaw, Gretchen Wilson and Bob DiPiero, and be able to share our music is a thrill. Every year just gets better and better and 2011 is off to an incredible start!"

"To be called a songwriter is every bit as important to me as being called an artist," Gretchen adds. "Country music has always been about the song -- about the story -- and I'm excited to be a part of telling that story in L.A. with this incredible group of songwriters, though with this cast of characters, I think we can guarantee as much laughter as music!"

The 'Redneck Woman' will undoubtedly perform songs from her new album, 'I Got Your Country Right Here,' which was released last year. The album is the musical representation of who she is as an artist. "It's me!" she told The Boot. "Musically, it sounds just like it should, just like I want it to, just like my live show. I think that's what's been missing from my albums in the past – that connection with the audience, the live feel and just the raw realness. It's like the first-ever female southern rock album. It's badass. I don't mind telling you that. I love listening to it, and I don't like listening to myself."

The CMA Songwriter Series has already played host to several big stars, including Eric Church, Billy Currington, Dierks Bentley, Jamey Johnson and The Band Perry. Ashton Shepherd is playing the next CMA Songwrier Series in the the Big Apple, with two shows scheduled on March 24 at Joe's Pub.

The L.A. Series, featuring Chris and Gretchen, will be held February 15 at Club Nokia. Tickets for the show go on sale January 28 and may be purchased here.
