Ashton Shepherd is heading to the Big Apple for a performance at the legendary Joe's Pub, as part of the CMA Songwriter Series.

The 24-year-old will be joined by hit tunesmiths Rivers Rutherford and Chris Wallin, as well as Bob DiPiero, who will also serve as the evening's host.

"Songwriting is and always will be the backbone of country music," Ashton states. "I'm just proud God chose me to write songs, and I thank Him every day that I have a chance to be a part of something so special."

The CMA Songwriter Series, now in its seventh year, has played host to several of country music's most prolific singer-songwriters, including Jamey Johnson, The Band Perry, David Lee Murphy, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Billy Currington.

Ashton is kicking off 2011 with a brand-new single, 'Look It Up.' The song, she explains, is quickly becoming a fan favorite. "People are having so much fun with it," says the Alabama native. "They are embracing the thought of somebody being in that place in their life that the song is describing, which is wonderful. Everybody's reactions have been very positive, and they're laughing and clapping their hands and just tickled over it. I'm left smiling after singing it because people are grabbing a hold of it."

Ashton will play two shows, 6:30 and 9:00 PM, at Joe's Pub March 24. Tickets are $30, and may be purchased here.
