Carter’s Chord Set Sights on a World Tour
The Carter's Chord sisters -- Becky, Emily and Joanna Robertson -- are reaping the rewards of their hard work, including watching a brand new single, 'A Little Less Comfortable,' climb the charts, as well as filming their first-ever music video. But while they are pleased with their recent success, the trio make it clear they are only at the beginning of their lofty goals.
"We want to do a world tour," Becky reveals to The Boot. "We want to continue to make a living making music that's relevant to people. With music being such a big part of our life growing up, it really is a soundtrack to what happens in your life. We want to be making music that has a wide appeal. I want people to say that they have had our song in a wedding or our song helped them through a really hard break up. I would love for us to be that act that people consider as one of their favorites and an act that everybody really relates to and is drawn towards."
An international tour might cut down on family time, but at least one Carter's Chord member would definitely have the full support of her significant other, since they not only share a home, but also a record label.
"I am Mrs. Butter," jokes Emily, who is wed to Trailer Choir's Marc 'Butter' Fortney. "There is never a dull moment with this man! So it's not too hard. We travel a lot, so it's difficult. When we do see each other, we get excited, because we don't get to see each other all the time. Communication is key, and to keep things light and laugh a lot. I think that's key in every relationship: to make sure you laugh. There's never a moment in our life that we don't laugh. He just cracks me up! So we have a good time together."
All three sisters are enjoying some time at home after wrapping up their tour of Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill restaurants. They have recorded seven songs for an upcoming project, and are currently deciding if they will head back into the studio.
