Brett Eldredge Invites Fans to Karaoke With Him in Nashville
It's one thing to sing a Brett Eldredge song during karaoke with your friends. It's a whole other beast to sing karaoke alongside the rising country star -- but that's exactly what Eldredge and his fans did on Monday night (Feb. 9).
Elredge barhopped for almost three hours with a horde of fans -- and it all began with a tweet.
Apparently, lots of fans were "up for a Monday funday" because Eldredge tweeted soon after, "KARAOKE! Meet at the lot at 15 Music Sq. East at 6:15! Everyone will have fun; 10 will have crazy fun!! Must be 21."
Around 7 PM, a karaoke party bus pulled into the lot -- with Eldredge inside. "I feel like going honky-tonking!" he announced. "Are you all ready? Let's go karaoke!"
The first song on the bill was Brooks & Dunn's 'Red Dirt Road,' which Eldredge sang with utter abandon. Throughout the night, he and fans grabbed microphones and belted out the lyrics to hits like Shania Twain's 'Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?,' Steve Miller Band's 'The Joker,' Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nick Minaj's infectious 'Bang Bang' and even a rendition of Eldredge's 'Don't Ya.'
Eldredge and fans hit up Lonnie’s Karaoke Bar and Troubadour’s on Broadway, and no one seemed to enjoy the karaoke more than Eldredge, who says that ever since he was a student at Middle Tennessee State University, he has been honing his karaoke skills.
"I love to show up," he tells People. "I never sing a real serious song. You can just let loose. I love the whole concept. Sometimes you hear really good singers. Sometimes you hear really bad singers who think they're good. I love that they think they're good. You can be a star for three minutes."
Eldredge is a semi-finalist for New Artist of the Year at the 2015 ACM Awards, and his fan-focused karaoke jaunt certainly earned him a few more fans. The category's final three nominees will be revealed in the coming weeks.
