Brett Eldredge brought some energy to the 2014 American Country Countdown Awards stage tonight (Dec. 15) with a performance of ‘Beat of the Music,’ just seconds after the uptempo track captured the award for Song of the Year.

Eldredge was clearly in a great mood after his win. During his performance, he ran around the stage and gave high-fives to the lucky fans up front in the pit. A No. 1 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, ‘Beat of the Music’ was certified gold and has become one of the signature songs of the young artist's career.

Fittingly for a Song of the Year win, Eldredge used part of his acceptance speech to honor country music’s songwriting community.

"This is so crazy. First and foremost, thank you to the songwriters, the people that come here and work hard every day down on Music Row and write their lives away with a dream in their heart,” he said, giving special thanks to his ‘Beat of the Music’ co-writers, Ross Copperman and Heather Morgan.

Earlier in the evening, Eldredge lost Breakthrough Artist of the Year to Kip Moore, but his Song of the Year win over Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann and Cole Swindell was a bit of sweet redemption.
