Alison Krauss joined with a group of country music artists and country music fans at the Ascend Amphitheater on Monday night (Oct. 2) for a vigil honoring the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting. Readers can press play below and move forward to the 28-minute mark to hear Krauss' gentle rendition of "Amazing Grace" in tribute.

Krauss was accompanied by the Cox Family for her performance of "Amazing Grace," which came toward the end of the somber event in Music City. Preceding the hymn, Sidney Cox offered a prayer for the victims of the tragedy. Vince Gill, Keith Urban and others also performed at the vigil, organized to mourn the death of the 59 people killed, and to pray for the more than 500 injured, at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night (Oct.1).

The shooting at the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Festival took place near the end of Jason Aldean‘s headlining set on Oct. 1. Other artists who performed at the event, which ran Sept. 29-Oct. 1, include Chris YoungJake OwenSam HuntEric ChurchMaren Morris, the Brothers Osborne and Luke Combs.

Las Vegas police have identified 64-year-old Stephen Paddock as the suspect in the shooting; he is dead. Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival crowd from a Mandalay Bay hotel room, above where the event was taking place.

In a televised statement on Monday, President Donald Trump praised Las Vegas police and first responders for their quick response to the shooting. Trump also ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of the victims.
