Blake Shelton and More Earn 2017 People’s Choice Awards Nominations
A number of country stars are among the nominees at the 2017 People's Choice Awards -- but Blake Shelton is the only one nominated in non-country-specific categories.
In addition to earning a nod in the Favorite Male Country Artist category, Shelton also received nominations in the all-genre Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album categories. For Favorite Male Artist, Shelton will be competing against Drake, Justin Timberlake, Shawn Mendes and the Weeknd, while Shelton's newest album, If I'm Honest, is up for Favorite Album against Rihanna's Anti, Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman, Beyonce's Lemonade and Drake's Views. The Voice, the TV singing competition on which Shelton is a judge, is also nominated for a 2017 People's Choice Award, for Favorite Competition TV show.
Joining Shelton in the Favorite Male Country Artist category at the 2017 People's Choice Awards are Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and Tim McGraw. Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire are up for Favorite Female Country Artist, while the Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Lonestar and the Zac Brown Band are competing for Favorite Country Group.
At the 2016 People's Choice Awards, held in January, Shelton earned Favorite Male Country Artist, while Underwood received Favorite Female Country Artist, and Lady Antebellum were named Favorite Country Group.
Voting for the 2017 People's Choice Awards is now open on the awards show's official website, where fans can also find a complete list of this year's nominees. The 2017 People's Choice Awards are set to air on Jan. 18 on CBS at 9PM ET.
