2016 Grammy Awards Predictions: The Boot Readers vs. Staff
Music's Biggest Night is just around the corner, and The Boot's readers and staff have made their winners predictions.
The 2016 Grammy Awards will feature nine country-, Americana-, bluegrass-, folk- and roots-specific categories. Below, see who The Boot's readers think will take home each award, and how their predictions compare to our staff's guesses. We'll update this post with the real winners as they are announced, as a fun comparison.
While the Grammys are a celebration of all genres of music, country will be well represented throughout the 2016 awards ceremony. Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmit will team with Jackson Browne to perform a tribute to their recently deceased Eagles bandmate Glenn Frey; Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt and Gary Clark Jr. will honor the late B.B. King; and Luke Bryan, John Legend, Demi Lovato and Meghan Trainor will pay tribute to Lionel Richie, the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year.
Additionally, Taylor Swift will be opening the televised portion of the awards, and the Mavericks, Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt and Little Big Town are all set to perform. Cam will also be presenting one of the evening's trophies.
The 2016 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on Feb. 15 beginning at 8PM ET. The televised ceremony will be preceded by the 2016 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, which is scheduled to run from 3:30PM ET until 6:30PM ET, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Calif. The latter event will be streamed live via the Grammy Awards’ official website and CBS.com.
