Chris Stapleton Receives Best Country Album at 2016 Grammy Awards
Chris Stapleton continued his awards show hot streak by taking home Best Country Album, for Traveller, at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
"I'd like to thank Taylor Swift for glitter-bombing me," the songwriter said with a grin after taking the stage to accept his award.
"This is something you never, ever, ever dream of," he continued, adding that he is "grateful" for the recognition.
Stapleton went on to thank his wife, management, band, crew, fans and label, before ceding the spotlight to Traveller's producer, Dave Cobb. Noting the time constraints, Cobb kept his remarks brief, highlighted by a humble "thanks for our families for putting up with us."
Earlier in the day, Stapleton won Best Country Solo Performance, for Traveller's title track. He's still up for two all-genre awards, Best New Artist and Album of the Year.
Other Best Country Album nominees included Sam Hunt's Montevallo, Little Big Town's Pain Killer, Ashley Monroe's The Blade and Kacey Musgraves' Pageant Material.
