Each year, the Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. (CRB) spotlights five artists on the rise for their annual New Faces of Country Music show, held during Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville. With the event taking place in front of major radio program directors, music directors and other notable industry personnel who can "make or break" their careers, a slot on the New Faces show is considered a huge honor.

The list of finalists for the 2011 New Faces show are Easton Corbin, Josh Thompson, Jaron and the Long Road to Love, Steel Magnolia, Lee Brice, Danny Gokey, Jerrod Niemann, David Nail and The Band Perry. At the end of this week, that list will be narrowed down to five, as voting closes this Friday, November 19.

The New Faces voting process is a bit different this year. For the first time, the CRB has expanded the voting to any employee of a commercial full-time country station. In the past, only CRS registrants from the prior year were allowed to vote.

Of the list of finalists, Easton Corbin is the only act who has charted two No. 1 singles ('A Little More Country Than That,' 'Roll With It'), while Jerrod Niemann has one with his hit, 'Lover, Lover.' Josh Thompson's first two singles both broke the Top 20 ('Beer on the Table' went to No. 17 and 'Way Out Here' went to No. 15). Jaron and the Long Road to Love's 'Pray for You' made it to No. 13, and his album debuted at No. 2 on the country charts. Steel Magnolia's debut hit, 'Keep on Lovin' You,' broke the Top 5, as did Lee Brice with his single, 'Love Like Crazy.' David Nail's debut single, 'Red Light,' landed at No. 7 last year, while his follow-up hit, 'Turning Home,' broke the Top 20. The Band Perry made the Top 20 with their first single, 'Hip to My Heart,' but it is their current single, 'If I Die Young,' which has been creating quite a buzz in Music City as it continues to climb just outside the Top 5 country singles chart. Danny Gokey's chart success consists of two Top 30 singles ('My Best Days Are Ahead of Me' and 'I Will Not Say Goodbye'), and his debut album, 'My Best Days,' landed at No. 3 on the country albums chart.

The New Faces show will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Nashville Convention Center at 6:30 PM CT.
